API sells holographic business

The API Group of the U.K. has completed the earlier announced sale of the security holographic business of API Holographics Limited to OpSec Security Group, a provider of anti-counterfeiting security solutions to government and corporate customers, headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado, USA.

“The sale is part of our strategy to focus on our core brand-enhancement offerings for the packaging market,” said Dino Kiriakopoulos, CEO of the API Group.

“API has a world class offering of laminates, foils and holographics for enhancing our customers’ brands and packaging.  We will transfer the production of decorative holographic foils and films to our site at Livingston, Scotland to ensure maximum synergies across our product range,” he said.

“The divested business includes commercial and production assets of the Salford-based security holographics company, along with employees who will transfer to OpSec immediately,” Kiriakopoulos added. “We will cooperate fully with OpSec to ensure continuity for all our customers throughout the transition.”
