Kenya to impose new tobacco rules

New laws regulating the manufacture, sale and advertising of tobacco products are expected to take effect in Kenya in September, according to a Business Daily Africa story relayed by the TMA.

This follows the rejection by the High Court of a lawsuit filed by BAT Kenya challenging the Tobacco Control Regulations 2014.

BAT had claimed that the government violated due process procedures under the Constitution by failing to hold consultations with the tobacco industry.
