Tobacco quit line running hot

Turkey’s hotline for quitting smoking was among the top five hotline numbers called during the first quarter of this year, according to a story in the Daily Sabah quoting data released recently by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority.

According to the data, people called the 112 medical emergency hotline the most, and it was followed by 155, police; 182, hospital appointments; 112 Türk Telekom phone disruptions; and 171, the Smoking Cessation Hotline.

The 182 hospital appointment hotline was the line on which people spoke for the longest duration per call – an average of 165.0 seconds – while the average call length for the hotline used for quitting smoking was 95.2 seconds.
