JT’s domestic volume down

Japan Tobacco Inc.’s domestic cigarette sales volume during October, at 8.6 billion, was down by 8.9 percent on that of October 2015, 9.4 billion, according to preliminary figures issued by the company today. The October 2015 figure was down by 1.9 percent on that of October 2014.

Volume during January-October, at 88.3 billion, was down by 2.6 percent on that of January-October 2015, 90.7 billion. The January-October 2015 volume was down by 3.0 percent on that of January-October 2014.

JT’s market share stood at 60.9 percent during October, at 61.0 percent during January-October, and at 59.9 percent during January-December 2015.

JT’s domestic cigarette revenue during October, at ¥50.9 billion, was down by 4.7 percent on its October 2015 level, ¥53.4 billion, which was down by 1.9 percent on its revenue of October 2014.

Revenue during January-October, at ¥517.6 billion, was increased by 0.7 percent on that of January-October 2015, ¥514.0 billion, which was down by 2.0 percent on its revenue of January-October 2014.
