NDC consolidates

 NDC consolidates

NDC Technologies, a provider of precision-measurement and process-control solutions, will be consolidating its Irwindale, California, USA, production and administration functions into its Dayton, Ohio facility, which will subsequently become the new company headquarters.

Significant investment will then be made in the Irwindale facility, which will undergo major infrastructure improvements to become the company’s new “Web Process Solutions Technical Center of Excellence.”

The move is part of NDC’s ongoing strategy to become more agile, improve global execution and place greater focus on serving customers and developing new products.

The company’s advanced manufacturing program will continue in partnership with key global suppliers to maintain maximum business flexibility, while focusing on key technologies to drive the company’s future. The R&D team will continue to focus on the development of new sensor technology and advanced software for control and analytics aimed at the extrusion and converting industries.

“We are rolling out a phased plan to ease the transition and to ensure continuity of good customer service,” said Dave Roland, president of NDC Technologies.

“We are focused on the long-term future of NDC and are taking strategic actions now to further improve the company’s overall operations and enhance our competitive position for future growth,” said Roland.

“It is important we stay aligned with our customers who rely on NDC’s products and services. A large investment will also be made at the Dayton facility to accommodate the increased operation size and to handle advanced sensor build capability being put in place.”

NDC Technologies is made up of four business groups, serving the film extrusion and converting markets, food, tobacco and bulk materials markets, metals market, and cable & tube markets, respectively.

The company has technical centers of excellence for each of these focus areas and invests heavily in R&D to retain its leadership position in measurement and control technology.

NDC is part of Spectris, a U.K.-listed FTSE 250 company that has a portfolio of 13 businesses focused on enhancing productivity and quality for their industrial customers.
